Twain is the singer-songwriter outlet of Mat Davidson, onetime member of indie folk (good kind) outfits the Low Anthem and Spirit Family Reunion. As Twain, Davidson plays tender and evocative alt-country, with his commited, freak folk-ish voice delivering flagrantly sincere and forthright lyricism that shifted from mostly political to mostly introspective over his career. He's released six studio albums so far, the latest of which is 2022's Noon; outside Twain, he's also contributed to releases from Big Thief and the Deslondes.
