Tour of the Lobkowitz Palace
The art collections of the Roudnice branch of the Lobkowicz family are among the oldest, largest and most valuable family collections in Europe. They include unique works of art, music and historical weapons.
The permanent exhibition of the Lobkowicz Palace Museum includes paintings by world-famous painters such as Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Canaletto, Cranach and Velázquez; the collections of applied arts are extremely valuable, including the world's largest surviving Delft faience dinner service.
The collection of musical instruments, manuscript and printed scores, parts and librettos is also unique. Among the pride of the collections are the correspondence of the members of the family with many artists, as well as sheet music with preserved handwritten arrangements of music greats such as Mozart and Beethoven.
Visitors to the museum are guided through twenty-one rooms by an audio guide narrated by two generations of the Lobkowicz family and the chief curator. The audio guide is available in nine languages and is included in the ticket price.
