Taupe
Taupe is a trio from Glasgow whose free(math)avant(skronk) compositions combine acid sounds, stormy improvisation, and muddy, doom-laden riffs into a sound that is both unruly and sharply honed.
They often seem to operate on some kind of spooky telekinesis, shifting from turbulent, uncontrollable chaos to tense, metronomic precision, cultivating an approach that feels both unstable and alive.
Imbued with a DIY ethos, Taupe balances uneven charm with precise focus, connecting the no-wave chaos of DNA or James Chance with the crystal-clear complexity of bands like goat and Horse Lords.
