Sun Ra Arkestra

One of the brilliant musical visionaries of the 20th century, pianist, bandleader and composer Sun Ra (1914 - 1993) linked the avant-garde free jazz concepts with revolutionary thought. Sun Ra was a pioneer in free, but organic improvisation. Dynamic stiffness instead of preaching, even though his contribution was never fully appreciated, his music speaks to is the fourth generation of listeners. His orchestra continued for another decade after his death, the current leader is almost ninety Marshall Allen, who had been a saxophone section leader Sun Ra Arkestra.
