Štěpán Pokorný
Štěpán Pokorný is a composer, conductor, choirmaster, singer and multi-instrumentalist.
During his high school years he attended several years of the Karel Velebný Jazz Workshop in Frýdlant in Bohemia. At the same time he founded with friends the vocal octet Regnis, which later grew into a chamber vocal-instrumental ensemble. Jazz, the art of improvisation, singing and recordings by the renowned ensemble Musica Florea later led him on a path of enlightened interpretation of early music.
At the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University in Prague he studied Bachelor's degree in choral conducting and music education in the class of the outstanding conductor and cellist Mg. Marek Štryncl - head of the ensemble Musica Florea. He regularly participates in the International Summer School of Early Music in Valtice as a harpsichordist and singer.
He currently works as a professional solo and ensemble singer and harpsichordist/organist. He collaborates with ensembles such as Musica Florea, Victoria Ensemble, Czech Ensemble Baroque, Prague Philharmonic Choir, etc.
