Starmach Gallery
An art gallery in Kraków, founded in 1989 by a married couple of art historians: Teresa and Andrzej Starmach. The first seat of the gallery was the Pod Orłem tenement house at the Main Square. At that time, the gallery had several dozen exhibitions, including those of Tadeusz Kantor, Jerzy Nowosielski, Roman Opałka, Andrzej Pawłowski, Maria Stangret and Jonasz Stern. In 1997, the gallery moved its headquarters from the market square to Kraków's Podgórze district, where the Prayer House, designed by arch. Jan Rumian and adapted for exhibition purposes to the design of the Zucker House of Prayer. The Starmach Gallery hosts the inauguration of the Kraków Photomonth every year in May.
