Sleep Theory
The band Sleep Theory was formed in 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee, as a solo project by vocalist Cullen Moore, a former soldier. The initial version of the project gradually expanded to include other members, among them bassist Paolo Vergara from the Philippines. This development led to the transformation of the project into a full-fledged band.
Sleep Theory’s musical style combines elements of alternative metal, hard rock, and nu metal, while also incorporating R&B influences. The vocal delivery blends melodic singing with screams, and the lyrics are based on personal experiences and introspective themes.
In 2023, the band released its debut EP titled Paper Hearts. Prior to its release, the singles Another Way and Numb were made available. Two years later, in May 2025, the band released its first full-length studio album, Afterglow, through Epitaph Records. The album produced singles such as Stuck In My Head, Paralyzed, and Static.
Sleep Theory’s first public performance took place at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis. The band then went on tour and performed as a supporting act for groups such as Shinedown, Beartooth, and Falling In Reverse.
