SIX60
SIX60 is a New Zealand band formed in 2008 in Dunedin. The band consists of Matiu Walters, Chris Mac, Ji Fraser, Marlon Gerbes, and Hoani Matenga. The group formed while the members were studying at the University of Otago, and the name refers to the house number on Castle Street where the members lived together.
In 2011, the band released their debut album Six60, which became the first New Zealand album to be certified diamond. This was followed by the albums Six60 (2015), Six60 (2017), and Castle St (2022). The band’s music combines elements of pop, rock, reggae, soul, drum and bass, and R&B.
In 2024, the band released the live album The Grassroots Album and the compilation The Six60 Collection. The band’s current work centers on their fifth studio album, Right Here Right Now, which was released in February 2026. The album was recorded live in the studio and was preceded by the singles Knocking At Your Door, We Are All Kings, and We Made It.
