Petr Vaněk
Petr Vaněk is a multi-instrumentalist (clarinet, saxophone), composer, arranger and teacher. He began studying clarinet at the ZUŠ with Antonín Veselý. In 1996 he entered the Prague Conservatory in the class of Prof. Petr Čap, in 2002 he entered the class of Prof. Vlastimil Mareš at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He is a laureate of the 2001 Conservatoire Competition. He is engaged in chamber and orchestral playing and pedagogical work. He has performed with the Václav Hybš Orchestra, the Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra, the State Ensemble of Songs and Dances and the Prague Festival Orchestra. He is a member of the Venta Wind Harmony, the Fantoma Opera Orchestra, the Cantores Pragenses Orchestra, the Trio Musica per Tre and the Trio Iuventa, the Duo per Due ensemble, and guest performs in various chamber ensembles – the Rejch Quintet, the Wichterle Quintet, the Prague Wind Quintet, etc.
