Peter Mikuláš
The Slovak bass Peter Mikuláš graduated from singing studies at the Academy of Music in Bratislava under Viktória Stracenská. He is holder of awards from international vocal competitions of Antonín Dvořák in Karlovy Vary (1978), Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in Moscow (1982) and Miriam Helin in Helsinki (1984). Since 1978 he has been a resident soloist with the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava where he has performed in dozens of operatic roles. He has been a regular guest in the National Theatre in Prague and the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava. His frequent opera engamements abroad include the Metropolitan Opera in New York (Dr Kolenatý in Janáček’s The Makropulos Affair), Berlin State Opera or Teatro dell'Opera in Roma.
