Papírna
The Papírna Cultural Centre is a joint project of the Pilsen Live! association and the creative Studio Petrohrad. The project's motivation is to create a truly functioning interdisciplinary space in Pilsen that will offer artists and visitors such facilities and programme quality that they will want to come back.
The industrial area of the former paper mill in Slovany is located about a 15-minute walk from the city centre along a popular walking route upstream of the Radbuza River. This place with the attractive exterior of a preserved brick factory offers more than 4000m² of open space with a contemporary art gallery, a hall for music production, concerts, fire events, a dance hall run by young Pilsner dancers, a professionally equipped 200m² photo and video studio and studios for exhibiting artists. Café Papírna, located on the ground floor, offers its guests a stylish refreshment option with an emphasis on the quality and origin of the product range.
The team behind this project is made up of young, active people from various creative fields who have practical experience in the field and want to contribute to the cultural development of Pilsen without waiting passively.
