Pal Joey
Joseph Longo, known professionally as Pal Joey, is an American music producer, remixer, DJ and musician. Longo was influenced by disco and early hip hop music while growing up in the New York city area. His earliest known attempts at producing music came with what are known as "pause tapes," a type of mixtape, which then evolved into the use of drum machines and vocal sampling. In the 1990s, Longo was regarded as an icon of the House scene, along with people such as Larry Heard, Kerri Chandler, Todd Edwards, and Cajmere. During his career, Longo has achieved production credits for work done with artists such as Dee-Lite, Sade, Shabba Ranks, Lisa Stansfield, Sisqo, MC Lyte, and KRS-One. Longo has done credited work on such notable songs as Thong Song and Act Like You Know.
