Orkiestra Teatru Wielkiego w Poznaniu

The Orchestra of the S. Moniuszko Grand Theatre in Poznan is one of the leading ensembles in Poland, which has cooperated with renowned conductors, such as Valerian Bierdiajew, Jacek Kasprzyk, Tadeusz Kozłowski, Grzegorz Nowak, Andrzej Borejko or Gabriel Chmura. Apart from the opera repertoire, the ensemble performs contemporary compositions commissioned especially for the Poznań opera, as well as symphonic works. The ensemble has toured extensively at home and abroad, including performing a concert version of Stanislaw Moniuszko's Halka at the Berlin Philharmonic in 2019. The performance, organised on the occasion of the Moniuszko Year, was enthusiastically received by foreign media and audiences. The musicians of the Poznan orchestra develop their talents also as soloists and perform in chamber ensembles. They also conduct pedagogical activities.
