Okay Kaya
Kaya Wilkins (born August 14, 1990), better known as Okay Kaya, is a Norwegian-American musician from New Jersey.
Already with her debut Both (2018) she has captured the attention of the music media. At that time, she had worked with King Krule and later recorded with Porches and L'Rain. With the remix of Believe and the successful second album Watch This Liquid Pour Itself (2020), Okay Kaya became a sensation in the alternative scene. Her songwriting tradition is to be non-judgmental, to look at even repulsive things with a new lens and to follow her instincts. Okay Kaya can explore the full range of human emotions like no one else and describe situations that others overlook.
On Oh My God – that's so me, Okay Kaya once again finds beauty in the everyday rhythm. To find peace, she moved to a cold Norwegian island in search of new inspiration. Through her introvertedness, she found new impulses in the familiar feelings of deja-vu and in observing the surrounding nature. The first single The Groke is a disco ballad about the changing landscape around her.
