Novelists
Novelists is a French band from Paris, founded in 2013 by brothers Amael and Florestan Durand. From the outset, the band has operated within the metalcore genre, drawing influences from progressive metal and djent, and has established itself as an original band that combines technical guitar playing, melodic elements, and shifting vocal styles.
The band released its first recordings as a demo EP in 2014, followed by their debut album Souvenirs (2015). This was followed by the albums Noir (2017) and C’est La Vie (2020), which expanded their discography and were accompanied by concert tours across Europe and internationally.
In 2020, there was a change in the vocalist position, and the band continued with a new lineup, which also influenced their subsequent studio work. In 2022, they released their fourth album Déjà Vu, which was preceded by a series of singles and subsequently promoted through concert tours.
Another lineup change took place in 2023, when Camille Contreras became the new vocalist. With her, the band released the EP Okapi (2024) and began a new phase of their work.
Their current work is represented by their fifth studio album CODA, released in 2025 through their own label, ACKOR Music. The album was preceded by the singles All for Nothing and Say My Name and builds on the band’s previous style with an emphasis on a combination of metalcore and progressive elements.
