Born in Saint James, and raised in the Queens borough of New York City, she gained greater recognition by releasing mixtapes from 2007 to 2009, and later signing with Young Money Entertainment in 2009. Minaj's debut and second studio album, 2010's Pink Friday, and 2012's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded conquered the charts worldwide. Today, Nicki is considered one of the most important female rappers in history, with tracks such as Starships, Grammy-nominated Anaconda and Chun Li among her biggest hits. In 2022, she topped US sales with the track Super Freaky Girl, the lead single from her fifth album Pink Friday 2, which was released in December 2023 and debuted at No 1 on Billboard.
