Nasser Kilada
Egyptian singer Nasser Kilada grew up in he middle of traditional and oriental music. After studying classical music at the Hevlan-University of Cairo he discovered his love for black music. Beginning with a repertoire of international cover-songs in the styles of Soul, Reggae and Jazz he found his own special style in the end. As a singer of modern Egyptian pop music he was a popular man in his homeland till the end of the eighties. In 1989 Kilada moved to Berlin, where he became a big name through several projects and bands. His first CD presents The Groove Of The Nile, a unique and exciting mixture of Chababi (modern Egyptian pop-music), afro-beat, jazz and traditionell Egyptian music.
