Monika Korybalska-Kozarek

Monika Korybalska is a Polish mezzosopranist, soloist of the Krakow Opera. She comes from Bydgoszcz, a graduate of the Vocal and Acting Department at the Academy of Music in Krakow and the Faculty of Chemistry at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Her repertoire includes many significant opera parts, such as Carmen (Carmen), Adalgisa (Norma), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Jane Seymour (Anna Bolena) Orpheus (Orphée et Eurydice – french version), Nicklausse/Muse (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Jadwiga (The Haunted Manor) and others. She also performs cantata and oratorio works as well as art songs. She collaborates with the Grand Theater in Łódź and Opera at the Castle in Szczecin. She is a laureate of vocal competitions (Iwona Borowicka Operetta and Musical Singing Competition – 2nd prize, Iuventus Canti – honourable mention) and the finalist of the 1st International Antonina Campi Vocal Competition. In 2014, she received the Malopolska Region „Ars Quaerendi” Award for outstanding actions for promotion and popularisation of culture. The album Per Due Donne with soprano-mezzosoprano duets is also a valuable achievement for the artist.
