MISSIO
MISSIO is an American music duo founded in 2014 in Austin by singer and producer Matthew Brue, who was joined in 2016 by producer David Butler. The project originated from Brue’s original demos, and after their first recordings, they debuted at the SXSW festival, where they subsequently evolved into the duo’s current lineup.
Their first recordings were released as the EP Missio (2016), followed by their debut album Loner (2017). The subsequent studio albums The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man (2019) and Can You Feel the Sun (2020) expanded the discography with additional material based on a combination of electronic production, vocal lines, and elements of pop and rock. In 2022, the duo released the album VILLAIN, which built on their previous work and added new singles.
The discography also includes the thematically organized Skeletons EP series and other shorter projects released continuously since 2017. In 2023, the group released several EPs (I Am Sad, I Am High, I Am Awesome) and related singles, which were subsequently integrated into the studio album I Am Cinco, released in 2024.
Their current work includes the continuation of the Skeletons: Part 4 series (2025) and new singles released in 2025–2026, such as Cherry Waves and I Remember When.
