Mimi Scholz
Mimi Scholz has her roots in traditional art and animation and began using the computer as an artistic tool in 2000 when working at a film, advertising and design agency as an illustrator and animator. The opportunities of working digitally fascinated the artist and she began improving her skills in digital drawing.
Without having a serious intention of entering the art business she first created her artworks mainly for herself, until she met Yasha Young in 2006, who encouraged her to work as a full-time artist alongside other artists represented by Young's gallery. Since then, Mimi has taken part in several exhibitions and art fairs worldwide, working with international galleries, projects and artists.
Mimi's artworks are based on pencil and ink illustrations, later transformed into a digital painting. Her bigger works span about two meters in length or larger and contain up to 30 characters and have become an important part of her artistic identity.
