Mendelssohn-Haus
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's (1809-1847) residential home is located in the heart of Leipzig at Goldschmidtstrasse 12. The Mendelssohn-Haus is the last structurally preserved private address of the outstanding musician and composer. About 700 square meters of exhibition space in the main house and about 200 square meters in the garden house are available for our visitors.
The museum offers the impressive historical part in the former apartment of the Mendelssohns. But also a lot of modern designed exhibition space on the ground floor invites to linger and listen to music. In addition, the original staircase, the children's museum and the room for special exhibitions are part of the museum.
