Martina Trchová

Martina Trchová is a Czech singer and songwriter.

He has been performing on Czech stages since he was seventeen years old. In that time she has won several awards for her work, appeared on television in the shows Na moll and Under the Lamps and in 2005 Indies records released her debut album Čerstvě natřeno, which was highly praised by critics. From 2009 to 2022 Martina performed as a trio with Patrik Henel and Radek Polívka. Together with her trio, she received the Anděl Award (2016) for her album Holobyt in the "Folk & Country" category.

The work of the singer-songwriter currently based in Brno draws not only on blues, but also on jazz and folk. Her singing ranges between fragility and vigour with an almost hip-hop cadence, and her lyrics can be harshly self-inquiring, but also playful and funny. She has recently returned to solo expression, this time with a looper, and her performances tend to be all the more urgent and raw.
