Marissa Nadler
Marissa Nadler is an American musician and visual artist living in Boston, Massachusetts. Her work is rooted in old-school country and folk, but brings elements of experimental and black metal. Sometimes the term Dream Folk has been used to describe their work.
Nadler, who sings in mezzo-soprano, has received much acclaim for her vocals. Her voice has been praised in many quarters. The Boston Globe said, "She has a voice that in mythological times might have lured men to their deaths at sea, an intoxicating soprano dipped in gossamer tones, reaching bell-like heights, lingering and evaporating like smoke rings".
