Manchester Collective is leading contemporary music ensemble Manchester Collective that has built itself an impressive reputation for both crossover and multimedia projects.
Singh and Szabo formed Manchester Collective in 2017 after becoming frustrated at the classical music establishment's often rigid ideas and ways of working. They also wanted to attract a more diverse audience. They can have between two and 20-something musicians on stage, who can sometimes sing, address the audience, and don't have to stick to a dress code.
Known for their experimental programming and daring collaborations, the work of the Collective has expanded at breakneck speed since their formation. They now play in concert halls, warehouses and factory spaces in 18 cities across Europe and the UK, performing a combination of cutting edge contemporary music, classical masterpieces, and staged theatrical work to a hungry, new audience.
