Machìna
Machìna is a Korean and Tokyo-based artist. Her music is deeply personal and rooted in her own personality, but is best experienced amidst the collective excitement of a nightclub dance floor.
Her compositional style is both thoughtful and playful, hinting at her love of jazz, which is evident in her confident modular improvisations when she performs live. Her vocals are distinct and note-perfect, enhanced by her regimented training during her time as a K-pop artist. Through the collaboration of software technology, analog systems and vocals, she forges her own unique style of electronic music. In 2022, she was asked by the Tresor record label to contribute to a compilation album (Tresor30) by the legendary Berlin club. In the summer of 2021, she was featured on the popular track Hawk by the British duo Bicep. Her third album Compass Point was released independently in October 2021.
