Lambert

Lambert is a German pianist and composer based in Berlin. His artistic pseudonym is Lambert, under which he has been performing and releasing music since 2014. A distinctive feature of his public appearances is the wearing of a Sardinian mask, which he uses during concerts and presentations. Lambert is a trained jazz pianist, and the beginnings of his public recognition are connected to so-called re-works, meaning new piano interpretations of well-known compositions.

His career includes the release of several studio albums, starting with the debut album Lambert in 2014, which was released on the Berlin-based label Staatsakt, followed by further albums and collaborations across various musical genres. His discography includes titles such as Stay in the Dark (2015), Sweet Apocalypse (2017), True (2019), False (2021), and Open(2022), which also feature collaborations with other artists. In 2024, the album Actually Good was released. Lambert’s body of work also includes EPs and music composed for film.

Lambert’s musical style develops at the intersection of contemporary classical music, improvisation, and jazz, with his piano playing combining elements of melodic improvisation and minimalist structures. His work also incorporates electronic elements and collaborations with producers from a range of musical backgrounds.

As part of his artistic work, Lambert collaborates with other musicians in an instrumental context, for example with bassist Felix Weigt and drummer Luca Marini, with whom he formed a trio that blends elements of jazz, modern classical music, and electronics. This ensemble, often referred to as Lambert Trio or simply as a trio in the context of his current work, reflects his approach to improvisation and musical interaction between piano, double bass, and drums.
