La Dispute
The band La Dispute was formed in 2004 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, led by Jordan Dreyer (vocals), Brad Vander Lugt (drums), guitarists Chad Morgen-Sterenberg and Corey Stroffolino, and bassist Adam Vass.
Their first release was the Vancouver EP in 2006, followed by the Here, Hear EP series, which featured spoken word combined with instrumental music. Their debut studio album, Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair was released in November 2008 on No Sleep Records and recorded in Grand Rapids. The second studio album Wildlife was released in October 2011, recorded partly in New York, and incorporated elements of post-hardcore, progressive rock, and screamo; the band also took part in the production. The third studio album Rooms of the House was released in March 2014 through the band-founded label Better Living; it was accompanied by a book, and part of the proceeds supported youth arts projects. This was followed by Panorama in March 2019, released on Epitaph Records. The album emerged as the result of restarting the creative process after two months of initial work.
In 2024, the band confirmed the preparation of a new album, No One Was Driving the Car, scheduled for release in September 2025.
