Korean Cultural Center
The Korean Cultural Center is a South Korean cultural institution that can be seen as a pendant to the German Goethe Institut. It is the cultural section of the embassy of the Republic of Korea at Berlin and is a meeting place, a place for exchange and for cultural mediation. The premises host a gallery, a library and media library, a cinema, an event space as well as classrooms for language classes, calligraphy courses and other workshops. With a diverse offer of workshops and courses the visitors can inform themselves about the customary culture, deepen their knowledges and actively be part of music, art, literature, film, language, aesthetics and other facets of Korean culture. The center supports events with Korean participation throughout Germany.
In a permanent exhibition at the Korean center art objects such as ceramics, dishes, jewelry and instruments give an impression of the several millennia old tradition of the country while the gallery mainly focuses on contemporary art. Besides, the center offers a regular concert and festival program, lectures with Korean authors, Korean language courses and more.
