Konradsen

Norweigan duo Konradsen’s debut was written over a period of three years by band members and longtime friends Jenny Marie Sabel and Eirik Vildgren. Saints and Sebastian Stories moves from one lush set piece to the next, interrupted by the occasional spoken interlude. Konradsen combine soulful vocals with ambient sounds, minimalistic piano passages and electronic beats. Both musicians took ambitious detours after finding initial success with less interesting music. Konradsen’s approach skips the groundwork to go for experimentation. It’s folk music untethered from tradition, prioritizing well-crafted production over well-crafted songwriting. Over time the list of people involved continued to grow and now includes a number of other musicians. Behind Konradsen is a delicate piano and a beautiful voice, but to achieve this hypnotic effect, you need all the people who bring the music together and who are all part of Konradsen.
