Konopex 2026
It's here! Konopex will once again open its doors to the world of cannabis. And this time, it will be a celebration of a new era and the future of cannabis! Since the beginning of 2026, the cultivation and processing of cannabis has finally been legal. New rules and new opportunities based on the solid foundations of experts in the field of cultivation, processing, and treatment with cannabis.
The ninth annual Konopex festival and trade fair will take place on April 24–26, 2026, at the Trojhalí Karolina complex in the center of Ostrava and will showcase the cannabis plant in many areas of its universal use. More and more seniors and patients are taking advantage of its health benefits, which is why people over 65 and those with ZTP and ZTP/P disabilities have free admission to Konopex.
Over 130 leading Czech and foreign sellers and exhibitors will present their products and news here. There will be trade fair discounts, tastings, samples, competitions, as well as lectures, consultations, a varied accompanying and music program, and gastronomic specialties.
Lectures, consultations, workshops, concerts, cannabis cup, and the popular chili eating contest
In addition to concerts and entertainment, there will also be a packed three-day lecture program. Forty leading experts will give lectures on approximately 30 topics in the areas of self-medication, medical practice, cultivation, breeding, legislation, decriminalization, legalization and regulation, technology, processing, extraction, food and technical uses, and current topics from the world of cannabis. Near the lecture hall, there will be a comfortable Vapo & Medical zone where visitors can try out different types of vaporizers and consult with experts on vaporization and cannabis treatment in general.
Seeds, seedlings, equipment, processing, extraction, and functional cannabis products
Of course, there will be cannabis seeds and seedlings, a grow shop assortment, and equipment for growing and processing cannabis. Professional growers, processors, and manufacturers of cannabis ointments, cosmetics, food, and various other products related to this plant will also be present.
Fans of the 420&710 community will be delighted by all kinds of gadgets and smoking accessories, artistic hand-blown glass, and additional and necessary accessories for solvent or solventless extraction. There will also be a home extraction laboratory, known as a "washroom," where participants can learn everything they need to know about this method. Another very popular option is water analysis, measuring the content of cannabis or cannabis products.
The event will include a rich accompanying program, packed concerts, entertaining performances, workshops, a packed raffle, themed competitions, a relaxation zone, a cannabis cup, a chili eating contest, and an evening canna afterparty. The workshops are particularly interesting for their practical aspect, allowing visitors to see up close how cannabis ointment is made, how plants are propagated, and how cannabis concrete is mixed. Another popular topic is the workshop dedicated to various methods of extraction and preparation of the material.
Three days of intense focus on the most versatile and controversial plant on the planet. Hemp is rightly called the plant of the future, offering many benefits and opportunities for research. It is known for its significant potential in medicine, and it can be used to produce beneficial dietary supplements and superfoods, as well as functional cosmetics and dermatological products suitable for both humans and animals.
Cannabis legalization and positive prospects
The Czech Republic is a cannabis superpower. After years of active pressure, a significant step has finally been taken and new cannabis legislation has been introduced. This is an opportunity to celebrate the end of a period when people were criminalized for growing a plant that, despite the threat of punishment, grew everywhere – in gardens, on windowsills, and on balconies of hobby growers, retirees, and patients.
What is and isn't allowed?
- At the beginning of 2026, adults (21+) will be allowed to grow up to 3 cannabis plants and keep up to 25 g of dried cannabis outside their homes (up to 100 g at home).
- An offense and a possible fine will be imposed for growing 4-5 cannabis plants and for possessing dried cannabis – up to 50 grams outside the home and up to 200 grams at home.
- Exceeding the limits of the offense will be a criminal offense!
These numbers may seem ridiculous and even illogical. True, the new change is far from perfect, but it is a great start for further development. The next logical steps for improving legislation include the possibility of establishing cannabis social clubs and a regulated market for so-called "recreational cannabis."
