Katja Ruge
In 2011 synth music lover Katja Ruge started her Party Series “Kann denn Liebe Synthie sein?” ”(Can Love Be Synth?)” in Hamburg. Soon these nights got connected to a Photo Series that she did for the leading Dance Magazine Groove in Germany. The photos of iconic Synthesizers such as the Minimoog, Korg MS-20, Roland CR-78, Arp Odyssey, Roland TB-303 & TR-808, Roland Jupiter-8, Oscar & Oberheim OB-8 she did in the Synthesizerstudio Hamburg are already Classic.
Katja Ruge exhibited her synth photo series together with over 80 Analog Synthesizers at Kunsthaus Graz, did solo photo exhibition`s at Concept Store Achteinhalb Berlin, A Synth Fest St.Gallen, Boutique Festival Fantastic Gondolas in Lech am Arlberg and represented her hometown Hamburg at the SXSW Festival in Austin. Reeperbahnfestival in Hamburg invited her as well and Gottwood Festival in North Wales. Created mixes for Female Pressure Radio and the New Order Website and played in Berlin, U.K. and Austria. Everything Synth from early Techno, 80s Synthpop, New Wave, Italo Disco to Nu- Disco, Indie-Electronics, Outrun & Cosmic & Dark Disco. As part of the Synthesizerstudio Hamburg and with Frank Husemann under the name „Can Love Be Synth“ she created full analog Remixes for Cerrone, Ruede Hagelstein (Watergate Records Berlin) & Polly Scattergood (Mute Records London). On the label Bordello A Parigi they released the song "Megapulser" in September 2017. Her party residency is MOIRÉ/PAL Hamburg.
