John Moods
John Moods is the project of Berliner Jonathan Jarzyna, also known from the psych pop trio Fenster. He released his first solo album, The Essential John Moods, in 2018 on Mansions and Millions; he followed up the birth-themed record three years later with the death-themed So Sweet So Nice. His most recent release to date is The Great Design, a 2022 album exploring the intricacy and exquisiteness of the natural world. Moods' songs are philosophical and melodic, playful and heartfelt, with subtle touches of humor in the arrangements, lyrics or instrumentation; reminiscent of songwriters of the past such as Jim Croce, Carol King, The Roches, Glen Campbell and Townes Van Zandt. His music has appeared in HBO's iconic High Maintenance and the Hulu adaptation of High Fidelity.
