Inland
Berlin-based Ed Davenport aka Inland is a British producer, DJ and the founder of the Counterchange Records label. He is known for his detailed and experimental techno releases on Counterchange, Infrastructure, Naïf and other labels; his debut LP An Invitation To Disappear was released in September 2018 on Ostgut sublabel A-Ton. The album was created in collaboration with Julian Charrière and translates Davenport's soundtrack for Charrière's video installation into eight tracks of rhythmic electronics and spectral techno.
A passion for timeless, celebratory and hypnotic techno led to the release of Davenport's first recordings in 2006. As Inland, his brisk output today represents purist and rhythmically progressive work rooted in the romantic tradition of early techno, yet driven by a constant search for new shores, textures and studio techniques. He worked closely with US artist Fuction from 2014 to 2017. Together, the two released the comeback EP for Fuction's legendary label Infrastructure, Odeon / Rhyl, to critical acclaim.
