In Flames
Метал | Sweden's In Flames formed in 1990 and, together with Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates, pioneered the genre now known as melodic death metal. The band began to gain popularity after releasing the mini-album Subterranean in 1995, gaining a contract with Nuclear Blast. To date, the band has released thirteen studio albums, gradually moving more towards alternative metal, with unclean and clean vocals instead of growls and more prominent electronic elements; for this reason, they are also often referred to as pioneers of metalcore, with bands such as Darkest Hour, As I Lay Dying, and Still Remains citing In Flames as a source of inspiration.
