Guthrie Brown
Guthrie Brown is an American singer and guitarist from Montana who moved to Nashville at the age of seventeen to pursue a career as a professional songwriter and musician. After releasing his self-titled debut EP, he followed up with his second EP, Spirit of the Elk. He then formed a band with longtime friends John Ogelby (drums), Will Honaker (bass, keyboards), and John McNally (guitar). Their musical style is often compared to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.
Brown and his band have opened for artists such as Jonny Lang, Willie Nelson, and Robert Randolph, and have performed at festivals like the Gasparilla Music Festival and CMJ Music Marathon. In the summer of 2016, Brown signed his first record deal with BMG and collaborated with producer Jacquire King on the EP Natural. In 2018, he released another EP, Keeping On.
In 2023, Brown, along with J.R. Wyatt, John McNally, and Shawn Conerton, formed the supergroup Heavy Quitters, which released a self-titled album in October of the same year.
He is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming EP, Hollywood Moon.
