The Gregorian Choir was founded in the early 1990s. The original idea of the well-known music producer Frank Petersen to combine medieval Gregorian chants with contemporary pop and rock music proved to be a worldwide success. Already the group's first album, Masters of Chant, brought the group enormous popularity - gold status in six European countries and platinum in Portugal. Staying on the wave of success, the band released their second album a year later - Masters of Chant. Chapter II. It proved that the idea of stylising the songs into liturgical chant delighted audiences.
