Gogol Bordello
Gogol Bordello is a New York band founded in 1999.
The band took its style from Eastern European punk bands, enriching it with influences of dub and traditional music, primarily Roma and Ukrainian. Founded by an American of Ukrainian origin, Eugene Hütz, the band is made up of immigrants from all over the world, including Russia and Ecuador. Gogol Bordello gained popularity outside of the New York art punk scene largely through a series of film appearances, including Liev Schreiber's acclaimed Everything is Illuminated and Gogol Bordello Non-Stop, a 2008 documentary about them. Until 2010, they were associated with the indie punk label SideOneDummy, which also released music by Flogging Molly, AJJ and Title Fight, among others.
Gogol Bordello have eight studio albums to their credit, the most recent of which is 2022's Solidaritine.
