Frett

Frett is the solo project of Maciej Frett, known from the groups Job Karma and 7JK (formed with Matt Howden), curator and head of the Wroclaw Industrial Festival, an activist in the Wroclaw independent scene since the 1990s. On the album The World as a Hologram (Ant-Zen, Gusstaff Records), released in 2020, full-blooded old school industrial collides head-on with IDM and techno styles, creating a raw palette of analogue sounds based on industrial-tribal dance rhythms, pierced with soulless vocals. Moving away from the trance-like ambient characteristic of Job Karma, Frett gives an almost pop-like structure to many of his compositions; with retrofuturistic synth melodies and powerful rhythms, stemming from the author's post-punk pedigree, they also work well on the dance floor. Maciej Frett performs live together with Anna Frett.
