Franciszek Pospieszalski Trio

The ensemble presents original compositions by Franciszek Pospieszalski. Musical influences place jazz, improvisation and the classical impressionistic sounds of piano music on an equal footing. The band released its first album Accumulated Thoughts in early February 2019. The band is a winner of the Jazz Juniors 2019 and Krokus Jazz 2020 festivals and the trio consists of Franciszek Pospieszalski – double bass, bass guitar, compositions, Franciszek Raczkowski – piano and Bartosz Szablowski – drums.

Franciszek Pospieszalski is a double bass player who comes from a musical family. Bachelor's degree from the Danish Rhythmic Music Conservatory. Graduate of the Józef Elsner Secondary Music School in Warsaw. He also attended a music school with the Jazz Department at Bednarska Street, and in 2018 graduated from the Master's Degree in Jazz at the Music Academy in Katowice. He is a musician and composer actively involved in many international as well as local bands as a sideman, as well as the leader of several of his projects. In 2017, he released his self-titled debut album 1st level with his band Franciszek Pospieszalski Sextet. In 2019, he released the album Accumulated Thoughts with his trio. In 2021, the second album of the Franciszek Pospieszalski sextet entitled. Second Step. Franciszek Pospieszalski is the winner of the Andrzej Cudzich Golden Contrabass Award, which he received at the 2019 Jazz Juniors competition. In 2020, he and his trio received a special award at the Krokus Jazz Festival competition. In 2022, he received a scholarship from the "Young Poland" programme of the National Cultural Centre.
