Fort Romeau
Michael Greene aka Fort Romeau is an electronic music producer and DJ from the UK. Greene was born in Chester, grew up in Oxfordshire and eventually studied music and visual arts in Brighton. After graduating from university, he moved to London and became part of the touring band of electropop duo La Roux. Michael released his debut Kingdoms in 2012 and left La Roux. The album was followed by EPs on labels such as Running Back and Live At Robert Johnson and songs on compilations such as Rush Hour, Cocoon, Correspondent and Mule Musiq. His second LP, Insides, came out in 2015 on Ghostly International and was an eclectic mix of house, kraut, ambient and techno.
His love of music, however, goes back much further in time. Greene's father was an avid record collector, and as a result, he often took his son to fairs and record markets. By the time Michael was eight years old, he was coming along almost every weekend, and slowly the collector became a DJ. In 2015, Fort Romeau founded his own label Cin Cin, which serves as a platform for newcomers and established names.
