Elder Island
Founded six years ago, Elder Island consists of singer and cellist Katy, bassist and beat maker Luke Thornton, and guitarist and synth wizard David Havard. In February 2019, the band released their long-awaited debut album The Omnitone Collection. Immediately after the album release, the band toured through Europe, playing two completely sold-out shows in Berlin and Hamburg.
Their album The Omnitone Collection is a mix of electronic left-field pop with neo-soul elements, eclectic basses and a slight funk twist. Elder Island's music is mystical and mysterious in its own way. Genres bend and mingle. Katy Sargent sings as if she is under a spell. With a sound that is often compared to Romare, Little Dragon and Bonobo, the collective has been lavishly praised by leading fashion publications Notion and Wonderland, the online keyboard makers NME and Okayplayer, and the British press agencies The Independent and Metro.
