Eduard Šístek
Eduard Šístek is a Czech cellist.
He has participated in many competitions from which he has won numerous awards. He has won the International Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, four times in a row. He was the absolute winner of the Prague Junior Note competition, winner of the YAMAHA scholarship and Talents for Europe competitions. He received the Oleg Podgorny Award for the most successful youngest Czech participant of the Prague Spring Competition. He has worked with the Mladá Boleslav Chamber Orchestra, the Žilina State Chamber Orchestra, Czech Virtuosi, the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice; with conductors O. Kukal, J. Zbavitel, M. Šedivý, etc.
Since 2011 he has been a permanent member of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, where he has also occasionally appeared as cello group leader in the solo of Brahms' Piano Concerto in B flat major with E. Ax under the baton of E. Gardner. He often records for Czech Radio.
