EABS
EABS is a Polish jazz septet from Wrocław which originated in the hip hop scene and was founded in 2011 by Piotr Skorupski. They compose and improvise, and apart from typical jazz instruments, they use, among others, a gramophone on stage. In their work you can hear not only jazz sounds, but also soul, funk and hip-hop. They also mention electronic music among their inspirations, although it is in vain to find it in their music – their sound is completely acoustic, without post-production effects. In 2018, they were nominated for the Fryderyk Awards in the Jazz Phonographic Debut of the Year category. With their music they paid tribute to Krzysztof Komeda and Miles Davies.
