DJ Schwa
Michal Schwa (Michal Růžička) alias DJ Schwa is a Czech DJ behind Beef Records, Shades of Gray project and rave events Komiks.
Between 2005 and 2012, DJ Schwa moved to Sydney, Australia, where he was a resident at the after-hours club Spice. In 2012 DJ released his debut house LP Soul Machine with Nick West, under the pseudonym Shades Of Gray. Soul Machine was named one of the 50 best albums of 2012 by DJ Mag UK and Shades Of Gray began touring extensively (Australia, Japan, South America and Europe). In 2015, after moving back to Prague, DJ Schwa (along with DJs Fatty M and Lumiere) started running warehouse events Komiks, with focus on techno and acid house genres. Komiks hosted artists like Derrick May, Omar S, Robert Hood, Kink, Marcel Dettmann, Steffi, Bjarki, Bambounou, David August, Tornado Wallace, Palms Trax, San Proper, Moscoman, Vakula etc. In 2021 Michal and his nephew Jan Poš founded the WD-40 Trax project with a focus on rave music and sound experiments.
