Dark Tranquillity

Метал | Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish band playing melodic death metal. It is the longest playing band from Gothenburg scene and inventors special Gothenburg sound. Their origins date back to 1989. Unlike many of the bands belonging to this genre have had relatively small changes in the composition of the group. In 1994 Anders Friden, the original vocalist of the band went to In Flames. Mikael Stanne, who originally played rhythm guitar and backing vocals, suddenly became the lead singer, while newcomer Fredrik Johansson took the guitar. Mikael Stanne with In Flames also worked, but, despite the generally accepted belief, he never became a permanent member - were only occasional singer. In 1998, after the release of the album Projector, Johansson left the band to which they were associated, keyboardist Martin Brandstrom and bassist Michael Nicklasson and original bassist Martin Henriksson switched to guitar. The album was nominated for a Swedish Grammy. After the release of the album Character in 2005 followed Fiction latest album released in 2007. The Group currently has a contract with a publishing company Centrury Media Records.
