Brno Contemporary Orchestra
The BCO – Brno Contemporary Orchestra was founded in 2011 with the aim of playing contemporary world music in the Czech Republic and Czech music around the world (with overlaps to 20th century music). They want to use music to reach out to listeners and show them that it can be part of everyday life. With compact dramaturgical units and original projects such as the connection of music with other arts (film, visual arts, architecture, dance...) they try to be attractive not only to the public but also to composers, whom they want to encourage to create new works tailored to the orchestra. The founder, artistic director and chief conductor of the BCO is Pavel Šnajdr.
