Bezirksmuseum Marzahn-Hellersdorf

The Marzahn-Hellersdorf District Museum is a museum that researches and conveys the history of the district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and its districts of Biesdorf, Hellersdorf, Kaulsdorf, Mahlsdorf and Marzahn.

Different age groups are addressed here through changing exhibitions, guided tours, educational museum projects, events and publications.

House 1 of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf District Museum is located in the former Village School on the Marzahn Anger. Special exhibitions on various topics of district history are held there, and interested visitors can also use the regional history archive by appointment.

In House 2 of the museum, the permanent exhibition on the history of the region, the district and its districts was opened on June 17, 2012. Here, visitors learn about the millennia-old and continuous history of settlement, the emergence of the district's villages in the late Middle Ages and the rapid transformation in the 20th century through the housing program of the GDR, which existed for only 40 years.
