Baumwollspinnerei

The Baumwollspinnerei (cotton spinning mill) in Leipzig has a lot to offer, including a hundred artist studios, eleven galleries, designers, jewelry and fashion designers, the theater venue Spinnwerk, an international dance and choreography center, a cinema and many more.

The former factory town, which had grown into the largest cotton mill in continental Europe at the beginning of the 20th century, became one of the most interesting production and exhibition centers for contemporary art and culture in Europe at the beginning of the 21st century.

Painters and photographers, sculptors, media and concept artists work undisturbed in their studios. Visitors can see contemporary art in the exhibition areas, discuss them or buy works of art.
