Avishai Cohen
During the two decades to the scene, Israeli musician Avishai Cohen has gained a firm place in the ranking of the world's best bassists. Genius musician and composer surprises and charms musical genre variety of public every new album. Jazz winds around the base of the loop of rock, pop, Latin, Arabic, Sephardic and Afro-Cuban music.
Cohen began performing as a child, although the piano when he heard the legendary bassist Jaca Pastoria, piano got vale prim and started playing bass. After the army discovered the double bass and two years later, at the age of twenty-two years, had already packed his bags for a trip to New York. Tireless search for young talents worked for some time as artistic director of the summer jazz festival Red Sea. One of the most eclectic pieces in Cohen's discography is undoubtedly Aurora, which attracted jazz and his relentless opponents. Cohen worked with the best musicians of the time - Bobby McFerrin, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis and pop singer Alicia Keys, is also the founder of the international project The International Vamp Band, with whom he recorded the album Unity. Following a grand project Avisha Cohen & Strings returns once the assembly intimate trio - pianist Nitāi Hershkovitsem and drummer Daniel Dore.
