AJ Tracey

Born in Brixton and raised in Ladbroke Grove, AJ Tracey has been rapping since the age of six. He was turned on to hip hop by his parents. His Trinidadian father had a brief career as a rapper, while his mother used to be a pirate radio DJ. AJ took the UK scene by storm in 2016, picking up two MOBO nominations and a whole host of industry accolades within months of his self-released debut EP, including selection as one to watch by MTV, Vevo and the BBC Sound Poll. 2017 saw him exceed those expectations, performing at nearly 150 shows worldwide, crashing into the UK album chart at #13 with no label backing, and rounding off the year with a huge 29-date European tour. In February 2019 he released his debut album – a highly anticipated self-titled record that showcases the many sides of an artist who has become the ultimate musical polymath – charting at #3 and claiming the title of best selling independent album of the year to date. In 2021 he released Flu Game which debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart.
